ANCESTRY
by Joseph R. Kudrick
This section of our web site deals with ancestry.  I have divided my ancestral family into two groups--those families related on my father's side, Joseph Kudrick, and those related on my mother's side, Anna Zokuskie. The Kudrick side of the family is the larger of the two groups as you will see.
The KUDRICK Family
The Kudrick family are descendents of Anna Scsur (prounounced Shure).  Anna brought nine children into the world who grew up and married.  As a result of these marriages and other identified relative associations, the Kudrick family encompasses the people within the Bartko, Began, Crans, Hrascs, Kelhart, Koneyak, Kraynak, Kudrick, Kudrik, Lazar, Lipka, McDeshen, Michalek, Mudry and Scsur families.  The Kudrick family emigrated from the Austrian-Hungarian Empire in the last quarter of the nineteenth century.
The ZOKUSKIE Family
The Zokuskie family are descendents of Enoch Zokuskie and Mary Dumblauskas both of whom emigrated from Lithuania in the early part of the 20th century.  They spent their entire working adult life in the mining villages of Minersville and Gilberton in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.  Enoch and Mary had four childen who married and brought grandchildren into the world with the names of Zokuskie, Zack, Kudrick, Horwat and Russell.  It is this family that will be addressed under the Zokuskie Family heading.
The Kudrick family originated from two regions within the Austria-Hungary Empire.  First my grandmother and her first husband, Janos Bartko, emigrated from Csarno and Havaj respectively in Saris County, Hungary.  This region later fell within the borders of Czechoslovakia and subsequently the country of Slovakia.  The villages from which they emigrated are located northest of Bardejov in Slovakia.  Secondly, my grandfather, Alex Kudrick emigrated from Kalusa in Ung County in Hungary.  This region also became part of Czechoslovakia and is now within the political border of Slovakia.  The town of Kalusa in Ung County is 22 miles west of the Ukraine border almost dead center in the country of Slovakia in a north-south direction.
Zokuskie Ancestry Page is under construction.  It will be added in the near future
One new page was added on 12/05/00 bringing the total ancestry pages to 30.  This link, "The Ancestry Hub" is the key site in navigating thourgh my ancestry story.  The Ancestry Hub will keep you abreast of new additions and will act as a road map to all of the sites.  It may help if you make liberal use of the back button when navigating through the ancestry story.  Also, use the F11 button to increase the view of the web page.  Please feel free to email me with any comments you may have.  Thanks and happy reading.  I hope that you enjoy the sites inside.
